Slow Cooker Apple Brown Betty
I know that a lot of you wanted recipes for main dishes, but I couldn't pass up posting this delicious looking dessert!
Slow Cooker Apple Brown Betty

4 cups small bread cubes (1/2 inch)
1/2 cup butter/margarine -- melted
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup brown sugar -- firmly packed
4 cups cooking apples -- peeled,chopped
Mix bread cubes with butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and brown sugar. Arrange in alternate layers with apples in slow cooker. Cover and cook on high for 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours or until apples are tender. Serve warm with cream, hard sauce or ice cream.
Makes 4-5 servings.

This sounds like something I need to print out for my mom! I would eat it, but have a thing against apple desserts. I don't like cooked/baked apples, and will only eat them raw or in the form of applesauce (I know it's cooked).
ALSW you read my mind - I was just thinking I haven't had apple crisp lately but this sounds pretty damn close!

I was thinking the same thing My Opinion. This is a great recipe for the fall to eat while snuggled up in front of the fireplace. This is definitely a comfort food recipe.
